Plasma

A plasma is a fundamental state of matter, composed of electrically charged but unbound particles. It exist naturally in lightnings and fires, in technical equipments such as flourescent lamps and plasma displays, and composes the largest part of the visible matter in the universe.

At the division, mainly two lines of research within plasma science are conducted: applied plasma, directed to novel concepts in plasma sources and to development of plasma reactive systems and plasma processes, and theoretical plasma with focus on fusion technologies.
