Master thesis workers 2024
The Tribomaterials Group welcomes two new master thesis workers. During the spring, Matilda Firsching and Anna-Karin Kron will investigate how materials, and specifically materials in tribological contact, are affected by exposure to ammonia. This is a part of the groups ongoing work to understand what challanges will arise when ammonia starts to be used as a fuel for marine engines - with the potential to completely eliminate carbon dioxide emissions.
Informational meeting - Master thesis work 2024
Are you interested in conducting your master thesis work with the Tribomaterials Group, or within the subject of tribology at an external company? We will hold an informational meeting where you can learn more about us as a research group, how to apply, and current thesis works for the spring semester of 2024. Explore your options while enjoying coffee and fika.
Location: Ångström laboratory, house 2 floor 2
Time: October 5th, 12.30 - 13.00
After a few years hiatus we will finally arrange the Ångström Tribomaterials Days again!
Invitations will soon arrive in your mail boxes but please mark down May 30-31 in your calendars right away. We look forward to seeing many of you again for presentations and discussions about tribological advances and challenges.
Master thesis workers, spring of 2023
Two new master thesis workers have begun their respective works at the Tribomaterials group. We welcome Martin Hallhagen and Julia Rosengren.
Martin will work with method development to study initial wear mechanisms of cultivator points.
Julia will work with the effect of oxygen on the wear of hard metal in contact with cupper alloys.
Both these projects are closely connected to larger ongoing projects in the group.
Dissertations during Autumn of 2022
Early this Autumn two of our PhD students, and valued colleagues, will defend their doctoral theses.
First on September 23rd is Anders Holmberg. His work has been on powder metallurgical steels and especially towards gear applications, where porosity plays a crucial role for fatigue properties.
A couple weeks later, October 7th, it is time for Carl Johan Karlsson Hassila. His work has been about additive manufacturing, more specific regarding how to print in Inconel and how the micro structure in the material can be optimised by fine tuning the process parameters.
Presentations of master thesis work
During the spring, André Larsson and Clara Landström have performed their respective master thesis work with us at the Tribomaterials group. André will present his work on diffusion between copper and hard metal on thursday 23/6. Clara will present her work on wear mechanisms of tools for agriculture on 24/8.
Dissertation Elin Larsson
On the 25th of March, Elin Larsson successfully defended her thesis, New insights into lubricated tribological contacts. During her time at the Tribomaterials group, Elin has mainly worked with investigating a new fuel additive for reducing the friction in combustion engines, and mechanisms for grease lubricated contacts.
Dissertation Charlotte Skjöldebrand
Charlotte Skjöldebrand successfully defended her thesis, Silicon nitride based coatings for biomedical implants, on the 18th of February. The work was mostly performed at another research group, but Charlotte has also been an appreciated colleague with us at the Tribomaterials group.
Master thesis work during spring of 2022
Andre Larsson and Clara Landström are conducting their master thesis work at the Tribomaterials group during the spring of 2022.
New PhD student
The Tribomaterials group have accepted a new PhD student. We welcome Vidhiaza Leviandhika to the group. More information about Vidhiaza can be found under People.
New PhD students
The Tribomaterials group have accepted two new PhD students. We welcome Maria Wojtowicz and Felix Ekholm to the group. More information about Maria and Felix can be found under People.
Master thesis work during fall of 2020
During the fall of 2020 we have had two master thesis workers at the Tribomaterials group. Alma Fjällström presented on 21/1 her work Method development for a tribological diffusion couple of rock and cemented carbide. In the near future, Maria Wojtowicz will present her work Macro composites for crushing - additive manufacturing of hard phase.
ÅTMD paused until further notice
We have chosen to postpone ÅTMD until further notice. A major reason for us organizing this event is the physical meeting and the informal discussions between the presentations. We see a great value in these and have therefor decided to not hold a digital event - but rather wait until we can meet you in person again.
We hope that the situation will improve soon and that we can hold ÅTMD at some point during 2021. Please keep a look out towards the summer when we hopefully can give an update.
Ångströms tribomaterialdagar framskjutet till försommaren 2021
På grund av rådande läge har vi valt att skjuta fram Ångströms tribomaterialdagar till försommaren 2021.
Uppdaterad! Datum satt: Ångströms tribomaterialdagar 2020 (Nytt datum)
Ångströms tribomaterialdagar 2020 kommer att hållas 26-27 augusti. Observera nytt datum!
