Ana Grzeszczak
I am a PhD student working as part of Additive Manufacturing for the Life Sciences, which is a VINNOVA funded Competence Centre, and in collaboration with the company OssDsign. The main focus of my PhD is the development of a 3D-printable and degradable material for composite implants. By replacing non-degradable parts of current implants design, especially in existing cranial implants composed of a mesh-based structure, the material would degrade in the patient’s body while being substituted by the patient’s own tissue, allowing for a complete regeneration of the bone defect. The polymer blend will potentially be combined with ceramic particles.
