Zaki Alomar

I am a PhD student in the Advanced Systems Engineering program at the Free University of Bolzano in Italy. My research focuses mainly on the development of a lean design approach to simulate accurately the failure mechanisms and the mechanical properties of full-scale lattice structures with low computational cost.  During my visiting period at Uppsala University, I will be working on designing, simulating, and additively manufacturing high-end quality porous structures suitable for biomedical use. The main aim is to have an implant design that provides adequate osseointegration and tissue regeneration. This will be achieved by simulating the behavior of the implant under different load scenarios and optimizing the design accordingly to achieve a uniform stress distribution.
