EMBLA group awarded research project funded by Knut och Alice Wallenbergs Stiftelse

The five-year project is led by Stephanie Robert (SLU - Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet) and also involves researchers from Linköpings universitet and Uppsala University. The goal of the project is to unravel how plant cells obtain positional information that guides their development. The role of the EMBLA group is to develop a microfluidic plant-on-chip system. 

The project will lead to new research positions in the EMBLA lab as of early 2023. "It's a fantastic opportunity to apply our expertise in microfluidics to the new research area of plant biology in this interdisciplinary project." Maria Tenje says.

Prof. Maria Tenje leads the Enabling Microtechnologies for Biomedical and Life science Applications Laboratory, EMBLA Lab, which is part of Biomedical Engineering @ Uppsala University. During the academic year ´22-´23 Maria Tenje is Visiting Professor at UC Santa Barbara in Prof. Beth Pruitt´s group.
