Lifelong learning
Materials are getting smarter and smarter – and we need to keep up. Make sure you have access to the latest knowledge and expertise in your activity. We can develop courses with you that suit your circumstances and needs. In addition to contract education and existing courses, we can also offer lectures, seminars and supervisor assignments.
We are very interested in knowing your education needs, so don’t hesitate to contact us even if you are not ready to order a course at this time. It can give us ideas for developing open contract education courses or freestanding courses that may be of interest to many. You can find information about contract education and our regular course offering below.

CONTRACT EDUCATION – COURSES TO ORDER
Contract education is based on the latest findings in our areas of expertise and courses passed can give higher education credits or course certificates, whichever is required. The form of contract education is governed by your needs and adapted to the skills you need and how you want to teach the course. Courses can be taught either at our premises or at a location that the client prefers, with timetabling adapted to suit combining work with study. Some examples of how contract education assignments can be designed are:
- Courses tailored to your specific needs and challenges.
- Courses based on one of our existing courses with some adaptations to your company’s unique needs.
- Study in parallel with students in our existing courses or study programmes.
Uppsala University’s Division for Contract Education can help with arranging contract education.

OUR REGULAR COURSES AND STUDY PROGRAMMES
Most courses that we offer are courses within an engineering study programme and these are not offered as freestanding courses. However, many of the courses in our Master’s programmes are also offered as freestanding courses, in which case they are offered part-time. This allows working professionals to study a whole programme in the form of freestanding courses alongside their work. Courses and study programmes offered as part of the University's regular course offering are free of charge and once completed give higher education credits. To enter, you must satisfy at least general entry requirements. For some courses or study programmes, specific entry requirements apply, but you can also apply for an assessment of your prior learning.
continuing professional development WITHOUT credits
In the autumn of 2021, we held an open web-based course "Understanding nanotechnology-enabled technologies for life science applications through real-life examples". It may be that we provide more courses outside the regular range of courses offered and which are not credit-bearing. Keep an eye on the Faculty of Science and Technology's page on continuing professional development.
