På Ångströmlaboratoriet håller vi till, som en del av avdelningen för tillämpad materialvetenskap på institutionen för teknikvetenskaper. MiM gruppen startades 2005 och leds av Prof. Håkan Engqvist.

Vår forskning är inriktad mot att utveckla och förbättra biomaterial som kan användas i hårdvävnadsapplikationer eller som leveranssystem för läkemedel. För att nå målen är vi mycket tvärvetenskapliga, och består av personer med bakgrund inom materialvetenskap, kemi, mekanik och bioteknik. Forskningen bedrivs i nära samarbete med industrin och andra forskningsgrupper, både nationellt och internationellt. För att kunna driva forskningen till klinik har vi även ett omfattande samarbete med läkare, framförallt ortopeder och radiologer.
